BSF School Council visit to New Build

October 2008

Work on our new school building moves on apace - as does the relationship we've forged with the contractors Interserve, who very generously offered to sponsor our Key Stage 4 and 6th Form Awards Evening in October, and provide all the prizes. We are very grateful to them for that, and for the flexibility they have shown in accommodating our wishes in the design and layout of the new Allerton Grange. It has been a truly outstanding consultation process - so good, in fact, that we have been nominated for a Building Schools for the Future Excellence Award and deputy headteacher John McCall has been invited by the National College for School Leadership to run workshops for headteachers of new schools.

In October 2008, Mr McCall took the opportunity to show members of the new School Council around our new building, which is rapidly taking shape. He was able to show them where many of the new curriculum areas will be, how the broad central corridor will run the whole length of the building, and he took great delight in their astonishment at the dimensions of the spectacular sports hall. Roll on September 2009 when we can move in and start to enjoy all those wonderful facilities!
