Business Studies

Every member of our society, no matter what our background or future plans may be, we all rely on the ability of businesses to create and provide us with the goods and services we need. 

The business studies department aims to give you a clear understanding of the fascinating and wide ranging topics in business.   We begin by introducing you to some basic business concepts. You will then learn about the heart of any business for example finance, recruitment, marketing, business planning and more.

We try to teach as much of the course as possible by analysing business case studies or scenarios. You will be expected to look at some of the dilemmas and struggles faced by many firms and come up with your own opinions of what you would do if you were running a business yourself. Therefore you will often be working independently with guidance, on researching in order to describe, analyse and evaluate various concepts or decisions.
