Design & Technology
Our teaching and technical staff would like to welcome you to the new 21st Century Design and Technology Department. We are at present learning how to use all our exciting CAD/CAM and industrial equipment so that we can introduce our students to a wider range of processes and the production of quality products.
We are:
Mr Davison (product design), Miss Cockerham (textile technician), Mr McCrossan (Technician), Ms Nicholson (curriculum leader), Mr Riley (product design), Mrs Riley (food), Miss Robinson (food instructor and technician), Mrs Smith (child development and food), Miss Tostevin (curriculum responsibility), Miss Whittleton (curriculum responsibility), Mr Wane (technician).
The Department consists of:
2 specialist food rooms
A specialist GCSE Textile room
A CAD graphics room
3 open plan rooms one for BTEC Design and GCSE Graphics, one for A level Textiles and one for GCSE and A Level Product Design.
Our 3 open plan workshops specialise in wood, metal and a BTEC space.
We also have a CAD/CAM area which includes a lazer cutter and Boxford machines for machining wood, metal and plastic.
