How to help your child

Academic support:

  • attending parents' evenings & review days
  • discussing end of year reports
  • discussing their child's progress after academic monitoring and grade collections
  • helping set targets for learning
  • attending presentation evening and other celebration events
  • contacting school if they have a concern


Study support:

  • helping with homework & coursework
  • signing their child's planner each week
  • encouraging their child to do personal study (other than homework)
  • ensuring homework was completed before going out
  • asking teacher(s) how they could best support at home
  • encourage reading at home


Behaviour support:

  • meeting with their form teacher to discuss behaviour
  • looking in their child's planner and knowing what detentions they have and why
  • signing their child's school report on a daily basis
