Students meet HRH Prince Charles: Neuve Chapelle

Our school was invited by Leeds City Council to attend an Indian War Memorial Commemorative Service at Neuve Chapelle on the outskirts of Lille in Northern France on the 19th July 2010.

Prince Charles & the Duchess of Cornwall were the Royal Guests, as we remembered nearly 5,000 Indian soldiers who were killed, lost in action or wounded at the battle of Neuve Chapelle in 1915.

The Royal Guests spoke to all of our Year 10 students, and were presented with portfolios of work produced by our students.

This poem was written by Jennicia Garvey and read out by Shona Cain during the service. View Poem
