AS/A.LEVEL
Students who opt to take the G.C.E Art and Design (Fine Art) course should ideally have achieved a level 2 qualification in Art and Design ( BTEC- level 2 certificate or diploma, or G.C.S.E ). They will be keen to develop their visual skills, be creative, enthusiastic and imaginative and willing to take risks and experiment with their work.
The AS ( Advanced Subsidiary) comprises 2 units:-
Unit 1 – AS -Art and Design Coursework
Unit 2 - AS – Externally set Assignment.
This may be awarded as a discrete qualification or contribute 50% of the total Advanced G.C.E marks.
The A2 ( Advanced Art and Design) Comprises 2 units + AS qualification.
Unit 3 – Coursework made up of Practical work and a personal study.
Unit 4 – Externally set Assignment.
The course covers a range of activities and more in-depth assignments. You will have the opportunity to experiment with different media in order to explore strengths. The main aim is to develop your visual language skills.
