FIELDWORK
- Year 9
Students use data collection techniques throughout the year. Students will collect data from the school grounds and present their results.
- Year 10
Year 10 students take part in a 2 day residential visit to the Lake District to collect information for the Controlled Assessment aspect of the GCSE course. They will conduct a rivers or tourism study using geographical equipment.
- Year 12
AS Students are invited on a 4-day residential visit to complete the fieldwork requirement of the course. Two days are spent in Newcastle upon Tyne studying human aspects of Geography and 2 days are spent in the Lake District so that physical processes can be observed and measured. These are non-compulsory visits.
- Year 13
A2 students demonstrate their knowledge of fieldwork techniques which are a necessary part of this exam course. Previous educational visits have included the Lake District, Isle of Skye, Barcelona (Spain), Grindelwald (Switzerland) and London. This is a non-compulsory visit.
