Prince's Trust xl Club  and Health and Social Care

Xl club is a challenging programme which focuses on developing student's skills of working together, improving learning and problem solving. Xl club is organised under the supervision of the Prince's Trust and is offered as an option choice to year 10/11 students.

Students undertake a series of projects and challenges to collaborate and to complete a portfolio of work. Successful students will gain a Gold award, accredited by ASDAN, and a level 1 or 2 key skills qualification.

Just a few of the activities xl club students at Allerton Grange school have been involved in include:

  • Attending a two-day residential at a local outdoor activities centre
  • Organising activities for local primary school children
  • Raising money for charity
  • Attending an army personal development day
  • Organising and running a mini-business

Health and Social Care                  Homework 2010

For this BTEC course students are required to complete coursework assignments for each of the units they are studying. Students have more than one teacher with each teacher responsible for one or more units. The assignment tasks will be set in lessons and time will be given to work on these with teacher guidance. Student will be set homework which complements or builds on this coursework. Copies of assignment tasks can be accessed on the VLE.
