Physical Education Department
Allerton Grange Physical Education Department currently has ten specialist teachers who have a great deal of experience in teaching Physical Education across all of the Key Stages and two PE specific Teaching Assistants. All staff are incredibly enthusiastic and motivated within their specialism and this is demonstrated through the high quality of teaching, student progress and achievement gained at all Key Stages..
The department is currently enjoying excellent links with the Carr Manor Sports Partnership and is playing a pivotal role in its development through the appointment of our own School Sports Co-ordinator within the department, Mrs Sarah Speed. Fantastic links have been established and built upon with local Primary Schools, resulting in numerous sports festivals being staged throughout the year as well as excellent Year 5 and 6 transition work through the medium of sport.
All facilities are used to their maximum and prove to enhance the learning and teaching experience provided. Physical Education facilities on conclusion of our new build will include: 1 Sports Hall (4 full Badminton courts); Fitness Suite; Outdoor multi-use hard surface courts; extensive fields hosting all field sports and athletic events and a designated PE classroom with interactive whiteboard.
The PE department are a dedicated team who work hard to provide a quality extra-curricular Physical Education experience to all students at Allerton Grange. The aim is to encourage as many students as possible to participate in some form of physical activity and our programme that includes both competitive and recreational opportunities reflects that ideal.
